Compensation

The mailman brought this new toy thing in a package addressed to muzzer today! I have seen these before. Butchy and Miss Snickers have one, so it must be the greatest fun thing ever.

Wellllll....it isn't a lot of fun, but it isn't terrible. To humor muzzer (and because Teka was VERY jealous) I sat on dad's lap tonight and let muzzer run that thing over my back. Seems to me she is starting a Gussie hair collection! She got a pretty big bunch of hair off in a very short time. Then I got restless and Dad let me get down. Then Teka jumped on Dad's lap and muzzer laughed at her. Then I jumped up and reached over the edge of the table and snatched that bunch of hair. Then I ate it. Then muzzer stopped laughing. Then Dad started laughing. Now I am supposed to ask if it will make me sick if I eat my own hair?

Muzzer went to work today and when she came home she had this new kind of doggie food for me to try. I have been very picky lately, not really wanting much except my frozen green beans at dinner time, and only picking at my breakfast food. Friends, if you were here in Azrizona, you would not want to eat much either. But muzzer did not listen to me, and she said we would tempt my doggie taste buds with a more premium brand of dog food.

Well, I figured I would give it a try, because after all, how bad can it be? And I did still get my green beans with dinner, so I figured it wasn't going to be all bad. Right?

So, I started eating very slowly. And then I ate a little more. And you know, this is pretty good stuff for dog food!

And the result is..........................................

Empty Gussie dishes on the mat. We will see, this may be boring or something. And I wish the package was a bit more quietly elegant. I mean, all that gold stuff is pretty flashy, and I am definitely more of a Brooks Brothers guy like my dad.

But the food is good, and it goes well with my green beans. And all the parents had for dinner tonight was leftovers anyway. So we shall see.

And, today I met a new friend named Blue. She is the one who tagged A&A for the food question, and she is a friend of Jackson's and probably lots of other terrier types. And she knew about Oscar and his blog. And you know what? She lives near where my friends Alison and Solly live, they were with us in Virginia last year, and now they are in Baton Rouge, but they go back to their home for summers and holidays. So I am going to write Alison and Solly and find out if they know Blue! This is a picture of Solly and his mummy when he first came to Virginia! It is almost two years old now, and Solly has gotten bigger, because boys do. I wish he would come and visit me soon.

That's that funny sounding food, isn't it - hund n floken or something? I ate that when I was a baby pup, it's good stuff. Glad you liked it. I see you have a double dish - enquiring minds want to know - do you mix the beans with the kibble or have it next to it? Mom mixes my kibble with flaky lamb log and green beans all in one dish. I like it. Mom says she wishes I wasn't as enthusiastic about my food and wonders why your mom isn't doing a jig? My meds are making me so hungry, I gobble down my meals in 3 seconds and then walk straight to the treat cupboard!
Did you see Ricky Pepper's blog? He is the doxie who I am going to stay with for 3 weeks when M and D go to Africa - his MOM loves baking treats!!! Did I hit the jackpot or what???

Muzzer is pretty square about food. She thinks you should eat what you are s'posed to, and I am usually good about that. But I haven't felt much like food since we got home, cause the heat makes me a Leather Jerk. Whatever. This is good stuff.

Hey Gussie,
That's the EXACT food that we eat! We get it from our vet & it's much cheaper than buying it on the web. Snickers started on that food about 3 1/2 years ago. They also make lots of good tiny treats that are low in calories. We get the Dragon's Teeth & Dragonettes. Very tasty! They also have some good bones with cinnamonnnnnn in them.
So did you sit still for your furmination like you did when Mama furminated you here? It's not so bad is it?? Mama just did me Butchy last night with that & then the stripping knife. I almost nodded off to sleep.
Guess what? We have another darn storm starting right now & Mama can hear the bumbling noises but so far I haven't noticed cause she gave me my pills. Shouldn't be too bad of storm tonight. Oh yeah, for that dog food, we get almost 1/2 cup for breakie & 1/4 cup for supper with our green beans, pumpkin & yogurt & salmon oil. We don't know if you'll get sick from eating your hair or not. Hope it passes & doesn't cause a furball in your intestines. Maybe your Mama could give you a spoon of canola oil or whatever oil she has around. Might help the hair pass easier. Hope you have a good night!!
Luv & Wirey Hugs!

We have one of those furminator things--I'm not a big fan of it! But we could insulate the house this winter with the fur we've sloughed off.

I never have problems emptying my bowl--even in the heat! I'm glad you like your new food--but isn't gold awfully hard to chew?

Mama saw this food today when she went to Bark Avenue pet supply. Does your Mom ever go there? mom just found that store and she really likes it because they have lots of good toys (even planet dog toys!) and the Canidae old man dog food that I like. AND that canned Merrick food that is so so so so so good.

Hey Gussie...we have undercoat rakes, stripping knives and all sorts of other objects to get groomed with. And a muzzle for me. If I wear it, I go to sleep. If I don't wear it...umm...I bite the crap out of mumsie's hand. I just can't help it...it's my job. I love to eat fur...mine and Lacie's. And no it wont make you sick...maybe just to get a hairball. Mumsie sent my furminator to my hooman sister for her cats. That's another post.
