My Muzzer is in SUCH TROUBLE

OK, you all know I haven't been able to get muzzer to help on the blog. She is a real mess with this move. She promised yesterday that she would help me tonight. So, I had this list of questions my friends have been asking to answer, and I thought that would make an interesting blog.

What does she do this morning? She gets me all excited and we go to the car and I get in the back seat like a good doggie. And I figure, I have a command performance at the store, because it is Tuesday, and I work M-W-F!

Nope. You know where we went, right? We went to see my arch-enemy...THE VET!

Now..I just went to the vet before my adventure at the PetHotel. So I figured I was good for a year, and maybe by the time I was due, she would have forgotten about it. Nope.

FIRST they took my temperature. And after that humiliating experience, they checked my heart and took me off to get weighed.

The good news is that I have lost a whole two pounds since last year! Wowsers. All that deprivation. All that hunger. All those treats I missed. All those green beans I ate. TWO POUNDS! Yippee

The bad news, I am still "substantial" In fact. I am more substantial than Jackson. I weigh a wopping 14.5 kg. (see his note on my last blog for a comparison.) Now, I told muzzer that I am sure I am much taller than Jackson. But the Doc still says I need to lose some more.

I reminded muzzer that Miss Snickers has a Thyroid problem, and we are checking for that, again. Which meant the blood suckers got me at the vet office too. We are also getting me one additional walkie, all by myself, every day. This might not be so bad after all. But I am still angry at her, and I am plotting revenge on several levels

Well on to my list of questions.

The Pet Hotel was OK. The food was good, they make a mighty fine Kong, and I had a great time in the playroom. BUT. They keep the TV tuned to the Animal Planet all the time !!! No Travel Channel, no Discovery, no SciFi, and worst of all, no FOOD Channel! That is my most critical complaint.

For those who asked, the house thing is moving much more rapidly than muzzer expected.

Our house here sold in three days! We have had the inspection, the buyers have their loan approved, the bank said there is no need to appraise our house because we are not in a "declining market" and we have very minor repairs to make. One of those comes out of Teka's allowance. We close here on June 19th and the new folks will move in that day.

The house in Mayemphissss has accepted our bid, we have gotten our loan approval, and we are waiting to hear if the bank will want to appraise that house. We still need to get it inspected and see if there are any repairs. If all goes well we will be closing there on June 26th, and taking possession on the 27th.

So, that means that we will be trekking cross country during the week between the 19th and the 26th. So all of you doggies on our route had better watch out! I am lookin for a place to "lose" teka!

Hey Gus, maybe us substantial wires should form a club? I think so far membership would include me, you and Mackie (no offence, Mackie!) If it's any consolation, my vet told me that it's usual for dogs to put on a few extra pounds over the winter. Ho hum, is it time for breakfast yet? I'm STARVING here. J x

Thanks, Gussie!!!

We needed to know the latest!!!

So Teka is coming with you? Maybe she'll be different once she gets to Tennessee...

Have you told her she better shape up or what??

Lots of empathy in your packing. Make sure Muzzer puts all your toys and stuff in a separate package that you can keep your eyes on.

As for weight -- we each weigh about 22 pounds (all muscle). And we could never fit into a sherpa for airline travel. What is 14.5 kilos??

Woofs, pal,

Jake and Just Harry

Sorry about that vet thing, Gussie! We just went through it ourselves and it was no fun (except the treats)! We're glad to hear that the move is moving along well. After moving 14 times in 15 years, Mom keeps saying something about having to burn the house and sift the ashes to get her to move again. You could "lose" Teka at our house, but Georgia isn't exacty on your way to Memphis.

Aire-hugs,

Hey, Gussie!

First off, why wouldn't Muzzer want more of you to love? Hmmm?

Congrats anyway on the weightloss, though you didn't need it as far as I can see. (My girl says as long as you're healthy and keep that fuzzy butt of yours she's okay with anything you do. You DO realize, don't you, that she MAKES ME type these comments, right?)

I hope your blood is okay and that you enjoy the extra solo walk each day. I think you need some extra Gussie & Muzzer time ~ you're a hardworking dog; you deserve it, man!

Hey, you guys are MORE THAN welcome to stop by GooberStan on your way to Ten I See, but no losing Teka here. I don't think I could handle her AND Stella. (If you guys aren't coming right through GooberStan, then maybe we can meet you somewhere convenient for you and have some lunch or at least do some butt sniffing - us, not the hoomans.)

Goob smooches to you for being such a mensch at the vet's, and to your mama while dealing with the whirlwind move!

Goober love,
Stanley

Hey Gussie,
Congrats on the weight loss. I sure hope I Butchy have lost some when I go next Wednesday or Mama will be mad. She's had me on my diet since my thyroid went bad & she feels terrible depriving me of food, hehehehe. Miss Snickers lost her weight right away after she started on the thyroid hormone, but she also rides that treadmill thingy, hmmmmph, maybe that's her secret. Doggies do tend to gain some weight during winter, specially if you live in Iowa where you can't even walk around the yard cause there are several feet of that stoopid snow!!! Snickers goes to the vet Monday & gets her blood sucked by the vampire. When I go, they'll suck my blood too, plus, stick me with some needles, ouch!!
Luv & Wirey Hugs!
Butchy & Snickers
PS Mama says DO NOT drop off Teka here, hehehehe. But you can come here anytime!!

Our vet has this cool thermometer - it takes our temperature in our ears! It makes the whole thing less embarrasing.

Oh sweet gussie...please ignore Scruffy and all his hoomiliaing numbers....

There's just a tad more of you to love, my sweet.

And I can clue you in on a secret...why Scruffy is sooooo skinny...he um...recycles...yep...that kinda recycling. And Mumsie doesn't think he absorbs food very well...so he's skinny and has really really bad breath and farts all the time.

So....would you rather be fuzzy and substantial...or skinny and stinky?

I know Miss Snickers is your true love...but....

I do adore you Gussie!!!

So glad the buying/selling has gone well so maybe your ma will have more time to devote to important things like dogblogging.

I would most def not forgive and forget about the whole vet thing but I hope, at least, you were able to celebrate your weight loss with a nice big dinner.

wally.

Wow Gussie, your mom has a lot on her plate! (Sounds like you do too!!!) And extra walk would be heaven! Maybe your new place will help you shed pounds with more running room?
