Breedism

In 2006, when I posted this for the first time, I was very guilty of breedism. What did I know? There were fewer doggies blogging then, and most of my buddies were Wirey Fellows, like me. I still have some affection for this song,

So, in reprise, with a few changes.....

I want a wire fox terrier for Christmas
Only a wire fox terrier will do
Don't want a pug, no tiny poodle toy
I want a wire fox terrier to play with and enjoy
I want a wire fox terrier for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door, that's the easy thing to do
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprisewhen I open up my eyesto see a wire fox terrier standing there
I want a wire fox terrier for Christmas Only a wire fox terrier will do
No Dobermen or Spaniels, or Schnockapoos will do
I only like wire fox terriers And terriers like me too
Mom says the wirey would eat me up,
but tell me could it be much worse than what Teka has done to me?

(Short Music Interlude)
There's lots of room for him to sleep in our big bed with me
I'd share my food and share my toys, and even wash his hair

I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprisewhen I open up my eyes to see a wire fox terrier standing there
I want a wire fox terrier for Christmas
Only a wire fox terrier will do

We just LOVE your songs. Y'all are rhyming machines. And so clever!!
Breedism is ok sometimes. after all, breeds recognize when they see one of theirs.
Love the song.

Hey, Gussie!

My girl is a complete dog whore. If she has a choice between hanging with some mangey looking dirty dog or talking to people, she'd hang with the dog. But, she is completely BONKERS over juicy schnozed dogs, and especially terrier dogs with juicy schnozes. (You get where I'm going here...)

Did you know that Stella was supposed to be a WFT rescue from Iowa? My girl was in touch with a friend of Miss Snicker's mama to arrange an adoption, then my girl heard about Stella. We put the WFT girlie on hold to see if the folks in FL would adopt Stella out to a crazy Airedale chic from out of state... and the rest is history!

Of course your song is breedist, but at least you're honest about it!

Goober love,
Stanley

Being a wire fox terrier, I rather like these words. Granted, they may be a little harsh on some other breeds, but you know we terriers are different. Of all the wire fox terries that I've come in contact with, I haven't met one normal dog yet. We're just like that.
