Packing - Day 8 or T - 22

Hi all Y'all!

Gussie here! Talkin' about the big MOVE coming soon to a home near US!

Hello Everybloggie...It is I, Teka Toy!
I am helping with the move too, so I got my picture on this bloggie! HaHA!

Me and Gussie have been busy helping muzzer pack! We have been most organized in our approach. Here is what we do:

Muzzer puts the box together with tape.

Me and Gussie examine and sniff the box carefully.

If necessary, one of us gets into the box for additional inspections.

Then we allow muzzer to begin putting items in the boxes.
Sometimes she wraps them in papers or that great bubble stuff.
If that happens, we investigate the item carefully, because we do not want her to smuggle food out of our house in these strange wrappings.

This of course, requires that we enter the box and perhaps tip it over in our effort at quality control.

We also do not like it when she packs our pillows from the couch, our throws or our stuffies.

When she does this, we take one item out of the box for every three she puts in.

This results in much shouting, and what passes for HOB language around our house. (Muzzer does not know too many HOB words, and what she does know are mostly Italian and Spanish. We really aren't learning much here.)

Sometimes she puts more papers in and we must help her remove a few. Then it is time for the TAPE! Dogs must be careful of the TAPE, because paws or furs could be stuck to packages! This results in yelpings and cursings.

Well, this is a picture of the boxes we have packed so far. There are 13 of them on the landing. There are another 19 downstairs in the basement. And at Dad's office, there are 34 boxes of books, with another set of 5 high 8 foot shelves and two filing cabinets to pack there.

Today they stopped and ordered more boxes. Muzzer says we are not half done yet.

The big question here is....Why do hoomans have so much STUFF?

Kisses to all
Gussie and Teka

Great job helping your muzzer! You sure are getting lots done. And I don't know why humans haves so much stuff. All they really need is a soft place to sleep, some stuffies and noms. The other stuff seems Most Unnecessary.

Oh, and if your mom complains abouts your help, tell her that at least she's not trying to pack with kittehs!

Excellent question. Our humans ask themselves the very same question several times a week -- and nothing changes. Stuff stuff stuff!

Be careful with that sticky stuff -- furs are precious and need to be protected.

haha! It sounds like you two are awesome helpers! I say it's a good thing your Muzzer yells her HBO words in other languages...who needs to hear that kind of stuff in English? Keep up the good work.

GusssiE and Teka,

Fwom youw descwiption, it is obvious that you awe a twemendous help to Muzzew , It has been my obsewvation that hoomans have way too much stuff which doesn't allow fow as much of ouw stuff as we would like. I suggest that when you take things out to inspect them, you chew them a tiny bit, hoomans usually don't like to keep chewed up stuff, thewefowe, Muzzew will thwow some of theiw stuff away Vwa Lah!!!

That's a good question that I hear around here ALL the time! My humans just had a garage sale to get rid of stuff and STILL have way to much. Now they're getting new floors so they had to pack up the dining room and half the kitchen.... yup MORE STUFF!!! hang in there, it'll be over soon and you'll be jumpin in and out of empty boxes!

Stuff? Is that what Moma calls Treasures? And what OurGirl calls Memories? And what I call Mine? All I know is ... the piles never seem to lessen ... and I would never ever consider putting anything in a box. But taking "stuff" out? I'm a pro at that! And it's great fun. (Make sure the boxes with your "stuff" are well marked. You'll want to open them first ... I'm sure.)

Happy Packing (you're a big help ... I know)
And even happier unpacking,
Jake (and Fergs)
