Greetings Pals:

I am just beginning to straighten out some of the details for our Super Super Bowl Party ....
For those of you who are counting...we have added the official University of Phoenix Stadium Countdown clock to the sidebar. Just a way to help you keep focused, and to let you know how long you have to pack your bags before Air Ruby comes to pick you up!
Speaking of our intrepid pilot, arrangements have been made for Ruby to land at Falcon
Field in Mesa, Arizona. Right after landing, our guests will be given a tour of the Museum at the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force facility at Falcon Field. For our guests from England, a special treat. This landing field has strong ties to the RAF, and was used as a training facility during WWII. Or as G-papa says "The Big One." The 81st AF division also has a lot of memorabilia housed there, as do a number of other USAF divisions. There are also a number of restored airplanes from that era, to view pictures, go to their web page.
Falcon Field is kind of fun, they even have a big, old fashioned tower. Ruby will be talking to a real person controlling the landing order and approach patterns, just like in the old days.
Unfortunately we will miss their big social event of the year, which is not being held until March 15. You are welcome to return for this dance, called
"Sentimental Journey" if you wish, we will be happy to have you stay with us again, and would love to see you all dressed up in the 1940's duds that the folks wear to these dances. Can you imagine Stanley in a snappy pilot uniform, complete with scarf, escorting lovely Asta in her snappy dance dress, a la Ginger Rogers? Or how about the whippet fellows as Fred Astaire? Anyway, you are all welcome to come back, but muzzer says "no organizing Gussie, it will be too much work."
We think you will enjoy this chance to stretch your legs before boarding your complimentary land transport. Joey and I will be doing the driving, we promise we will not let Teka or Doofus anywhere near the controls of these vehicles.
Joey and I are ready to do a "short" tour of the Eastern part of the Valley of the Sun on the way to your accomodations. Just be sure to let us know if you have a particular spot you don't want to miss.
Muzzer will be waiting at home with your welcome gifts, and she will have snacks on hand. These will have a southwestern flair, including pup chips and sloppy salsa, Dogaritas and the requisite hot Mexican food.
More later about dinner on Friday and plans for Saturday and Game day.
For those of you who prefer to make private arrangements and just join us for the pawties, we noticed that Expedia has some special rates available. Check this Expedia site for information.

Oh it sounds like so much fun! Sammy kind of looks like Fred Astaire in that photo with the servant, now that you mention it.
Let us know what we can bring (NOT Maria because she's the fun police). It will be me, and Sam and Lindy Loo.

I know!! I can bring POOP!!! A Poop Pooh Platter!

My Dad is jealous and says he wants to tag along to falcon field even though he has already been there a billion times, he is such an airplane nerd. We better watch that he doesn't take Aire Ruby out while we are partying. You think we should hit In n' Out burger on our tour? I know your Mom is making some great snackies but I dont think you can ever eat too much!

We are SO EXCITED!!!

What good planners you are -- Mom has a friend who travels all over the world arranging meetings for the corporate execs at her company. Sounds like you could have a future in that field, Gussie!!!

Mom better get busy on our attire!!! And we're still not sure about our transport.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing Falcon Field, and about learning all about American Football during the Superbowl. I hope I don't annoy anyone by asking lots of questions!

Toodle pip,

That all sounds great!! You've done an excellent job of planning, Gus. Falcon Field will be very interesting, I'm sure. I, like kousin Asta, want to come back for the 1940's dance, if that is okay with you. I'm sure I can get Scruffy to bring me.

I have a question about the food. Will I need to bring some Nexium or other antacids? I am not used to southwestern food. We don't get a lot of it in the northeast. (That might be a good thing, the way my mom cooks.)

Can't wait to see you in two weeks!!

Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

Oh man, I was going to send our foster pup Stewie to Animal Planet to be in the Puppy Bowl! He would wipe out both teams in about 10 minutes. Then it would be the Pee Bowl, knowing Stewie...

You pals have all the arrangements in pawfect order. I do apologize that I was unable to stop by and see you when I was visiting the Stain Mecca. However, if you do need additional assistance in planning, or putting together this soiree, do let me know. I am always up for another roadtrip in the VW.

Hi Gus,

No I'm not near Lexington VA, I'm about 3 hours up I-81 and east of there in northern VA. Mom knows of a woman down near Charlottesville who bred Bedlingtons so she may have sold some to people in Lexington, who knows. Then there's another lady down near there too who bred a couple of litters some time back. She even bred to me once! (proud Daddy that I am)
The Bedlington breed is a small world!

Love,
Rudy

OOHH We are so excited. My mom says her dad fought in WWII and he taught her to dance to big band music when she was just a small puppy!

We can hardly wait and will be booking for the superbowl pawty soon.

Well we are ESPECIALLY excited as our boys will be playing!! Archie is going to rent a little Vespa in case he is not up to walking large amounts yet.Do you think other doggies will mind if we wear our Patriots garb? Plus Archie may have to go on the field to help Couch Bellichik if he needs help.Love A+A

I am so excited about visiting hot, toasty Arizona! I am cheering for the Patriots.

My dad is conducting a concert next month that sounds like that "Sentimental Journey" concert. He said he has to learn how to foxtrot. I told him no problem, just watch all my good moves.

Your friend, Lenny

Please give your muzzer some goob smooches from me for opening up her home to all of us. She is very brave, indeed!
