E. Rabbit responds

Ok, Dog Bloggers. It’s E. Rabbit here.

I see some of you are upset that I made cookies for my young friend George while he was staying with me this weekend.

But let’s get some perspective. Gus makes it sound like I made cookies for George, but I’ve never done anything for Gus.

This is quite simply untrue. Let’s review just a few of the things I have done for Gus:

I bought him special cookies for the election.

And George W. Bush cookies before the election.

And TWO George W. Bush stuffies for him to kill.

I have bought him a Baseball toy.

And a St. Louis Cardinals Bowl.

And a St. Louis Cardinals Bandanananana.

And a Tabasco Bandanananana that has a cooling pack in it.

I have bought him sunglasses to wear on his many car trips.

I have given Muzzer a kit so she can make dog biscuits for him (it is not MY fault if Muzzer has not made him any biscuits).

I have made him a blue sweater.

And a maroon and gold sweater.

And a monogrammed sweater vest.

And that doesn’t EVEN count the things I’ve done for Teka.

Ok, maybe we shouldn’t talk about the things I’ve done for Teka.

But the point is: Gus is acting jealous that I made one batch of cookies for George while his mom was out of town.

And that’s kind of selfish when you consider all the things I’ve done for Gus. You’d think he’d be a more generous spirited terrier, and be proud of me for doing things for other doggies from time to time.

Frankly, I’m a little embarrassed that that’s not the case.

Besides, the cookies gave George smelly gas. So Gus wouldn’t have wanted them anyway.

We're Gussie's Cardinal rootie tootie (sometimes) pals -- why don't we have a Cardinals bowl????? Mom? Dogdad?

Perhaps our humans are too sin-ical -- but in the business world they live in it's always "Forget about yesterday -- what have you done for us today." So we guess that's what Gussie was into.

We know you are a loving sissie -- and we apologize for contributing to the offense with our "Bad Sissie. Bad" yesterday.

[The heartwrenching sound of two wire fox terriers sobbing in unison with their pal Gussie.]

(We did see you on the NPR video broadcast -- does that count???)

E. Rabbit,

You're forgiven. Sorry I jumped all over you, but I was upset because poor Gussie was upset. Anybody who hurts Gussie has to deal with me, Koobuss.

Since Gussie apologized, I will too. You do a lot of good works, E. Rabbit, and you deserved to be recognized. So, I'm sending you some extra Koobuss Kisses.

Love and Lots and Lots of Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

OK, fine, but what have you done for him lately, like today? And why should he miss out on the smelly farts. I mean those can provide lots of entertainments for us guys. After all, a dog fart is funny every time, right? Right?

Hang in there Gus. She will make you foodables soon.

Hello E.Rabbit.I'm wagging Gussie has forgiven you. Cos I noted all the sooper dooper special things you've done for Gussie.Guess that makes you even stevens.

I don't have a sissy of my own so if you know- you are ever doggie deprived - you might like to adopt me for long weekends and holidays as a Gussie lookie likee stand in? Cos I don't expect you can deprive Muzzer and have Gussie for a sleepover.

I can send references. Please note I don't chase rabbits. Talk to them sometimes and wonder how they do the mutiplying trick that's all. You'll be safe with me.

Wiry wags and kisses, Eric

Tell Muzzer I'm liking the necklace idea. Appeals to my metro dog guise.

Gus, we think you made out pretty well and can't really complain too much. Wish we had 'W' dolls to rip apart.
