Gussie Pix (not for the faint of heart, please!)

AHEM. While I am lounging in luxury on Aire Ruby's Anniversary Tour, Muzzer has promised to post some post surgery pictures for the ghoulish among us.

The first shot is of my little leggy. They shaved some hair so they could put a needle in there with a tubey thing in it. Then cold stuff came into my tiny doggy body, and after that, I don't remember too much. Muzzer says I also got fluid to help keep me hydrated, because I didn't get any water for almost 12 hours, and even then, I only got ice chips for a long time, only a few at a time. Boy, was I glad to see my bowl.

OK, these get yuckier as we go along.

This next shot is a side view of where I have been de-nuded of my manly dog chest hair, and you can see the tubes and the stitches, and some of the serum and bloody stuff that comes out. The yellow patches are from the stuff they painted me with! Did Picasso have a Yellow Period? This Doc must've been inspired by something.

By the way...I think Jackson and I should petition Dr. Snitchybug to make us chest toupees! The ladies don't seem to find my chest as awe inspiring as they once did. In fact, I think I heard Koobee giggling at it.

Ok, I promise this is the last one. For those of you who want to count stitches and stuff like that.

You can still see the outline of Rodney there, and a little bit of swelling, which hasn't changed since I came home from the vet place. And you get a better idea of how long it will be before my hair grows back in - natural curls and all.

Oh, and for those who are concerned that losing Rodney might put my standing as a substantial wire in jeopardy, NO WAY! Rodney was only about the size of a fist, and didn't weigh more than 2/3 lb, so I still have a wide (hehe) margin.

So, did anybody stick with me through this whole tour? Understand that I don't blame anybody who flipped over to read about babies and birds on someone else's bloggie. We posted these in case anyone else has to have this done, so you can check on here and see what it looks like.

Hey Folks....these ARE the AFTER pictures!

Oooo, Gus! Your scar is going to be PAWSOME! Remember that I also have a neck scar from my tumour removal last year. We could be scar brothers! And I see you have a poodle leg too. Good thing J2 didn't see your photos cos he'd have passed out by now, hehehe! Anyway, how are you feeling pal? Milk it, it's got to be worth extra treats! JX

Gussie!

I'm not ghoulish. I just wanted to go through this with you ALL THE WAY... stitches and drainage gunk and all!

You are going to look even MORE butch and tough, man. I think you should get out and about as soon as possible (even sans chest hair), as such a bitchin' scar is bound to spark interest and conversation.

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

dang dude that sucks. when do the drains come out? Mom had a fatty tumor removed from her neck when she was younger and had drains for about 16 hours and said it was terribly painful. Good thing she didnt look in the mirror during that time!

Hey Pal, We were brave and looked -- it reminded Mom of when I had my puncture sewed and they used black thread for the stitches on my shaved face. If you want to be ghoulish and compare, nekked skin and stitches, I could send you a photo :(

Your manly curls will grow back manlier than ever -- and we'll love you even more for what you've been through. It will make a great story when you take Ms. Snickers out on a real date!!

Hope it wasn't too hot for your dad's promenade in the afternoon sun!!

Man, you and Jackson are like ROCK STARS! Tough. motorcycle riding, Brando like rock stars. Me? Toughest thing I've undergone (aside from the big snip and really, how bad was that?) is getting handstripped a couple times a year!

Glad you're feeling better,

Your pal,

Petey

Oh my dogness, Gussie! We didn't know you when you had this done, and we didn't know about it until we learned about it on Butchy's blog. We are soooo glad you healed up well and got all your chest hairs back.

Whew. Those were some gruesome pictures to look at!
