Teka's First Winter

Y'all know Teka Toy, right?

Before we begin this post, let's do a refresher course.

Teka is my niece. She kinda/sorta belongs to my Sissie, E.Beth.

But E.Beth is still in Collidge. She is a poor, starving student. She lives in apartments without yards. So ..... Teka has been livin' with us ever since we moved back from Virginia.

Teka is an Azrizona dog, who thinks she is a California Girl.

She reacts to cold weather kinda like our pal Joey Stains. (who is on his honeymoon, so don't visit his blog for a week or so.)

Last night we had our first almost cold night. It was down into the 30 degree Fahrenheit range.

This morning, we went out for walkies while it was still dark, and I will admit, even for me it was a bit chilly. But I lived in Virginia and Delaware when I was a pup, so I am quite accustomed to cold. Hey....I've even seen snow.

We came back to our house, the hoomans made us breakfast, then made breakfast for themselves, and right after bananananas, Teka disappeared.

Muzzer went into her bedroom to pull up the covers and make it a little neat in there. I do have standards, ya know?

Look what she found.

There was a big lump on the side of the bed over closest to the heating vent.

Muzzer thought she might know what it was, but before she started to pat it down flat, she went over to the other side to check.

Look what she found!

Teka had found a spot under the cover and comforter and was snoozin the morning away.

And look at the "look" she got from Teka after that camera flash.
Well, we are invited to Scruffy, Lacie and Stan's place to play poker.

I am borrowing the Gussiemobile and heading for Ioway to pick up Butcho and sweet Miss Snickers.

Teka says she is not going unless she hears for SURE that Swede William will be there.

See y'all soon.

Hi, Gussie...

Looks like Teka found a nice, warm, cozy spot...

It's getting cold her in Upstate New York, too...We had some snow about a week ago...

My Mom says she hates the snow...I asked her why she lives in Upstate New York, then...Sometimes they just don't make sense...

Enjoy the Poker Party...

Haha, Teka smart girl, she knows how to take good care of herself.
After a nice yummy breakfast, what is more comfortable than a nap under the cozy comfort and specially, the hoomans warm scent?
Good luck at the poker game, win a lot of treats!

That's one great spot you found for youself, Teka! We've been having very mild temps here in CT! Mom wants this weather to last forever! Not me! I like it colder, much colder!
Have fun playing poker!

Awwww Teka doesn't like the cold at all! I don't either! I have to wear a sweater when it gets down to the 30's! Enjoy your poker game!

Oh Teka! You learned well how to stay warm on your all too brief visit to Paducah. How warm I could keep you!!! Warm as a heat vent. Warm as squirrellie gutts. Warm as FRESH POOP!!!!

I will go if I can catch a ride. The servant is all holed up writing this dumb book. B.O.R.I.N.G. But we are inspirations so maybe it's not all bad.

Now she's done lunch and has to go back to writing.

love,
your Swede William

Fall is definitely here and winter can't be far off. Teka is smart to stay under the covers and sleep on a cold morning. Who needs envigorating. We don't even do 3 dog nights on the big bed now, we do a minimum of 5 dog nights and sometimes six. J.E.B. likes the cold bathroom tile floor for some unknown reason.
