we interrupt

The seemingly endless flow of Christmas Carols and other seasonal songs to make an important announcement.
SESAME STREET IS 40 THIS YEAR!

Or......

(PLAZA SESAME ES DE 40 ANOS!)

(SESAME ST. EST DE 40 ANS!)

(SESAMESTRASSE IST 40 JAHRE ALT!)

Now, this is very important to me for a couple of reasons.

First: My Sissies were raised by Mr. Hooper, Big Bird, Elmo and Cookie Monster. And I think they did a great job! Oh, my parents were around, ya know. But Sesame Street gets most of the credit.

Second: When my dad reads to me and teka he likes to read the old Sesame Street books that the sissies had. The man does a GREAT Big Bird voice, and is passing fair on Elmo and Cookie. Me and Teka roll around laughing and chortling. Muzzer does the Grouchy voice.

So, thank you Sesame Street for many things. Have a marvelous anniversary. Muzzer says she hopes that by the time you turn 50, she has a grandbaby to share you with. Truly, she hopes that when she is old and senile, someone turns on your show to make her smile.

This announcement is brought to you by the letter E and the number 40!

And to honor the guy in the sweater, who introduced my sissies to Opera! (no, not OPRAH!)

Gussie, guess what? Our human siblings were raised on sesame st. too. Oscar the grouch was the boys favorite-remember the song "I Love Trash?" the little girl was partial to the cookie monster and later elmo-mom says she thinks elmo may not have been in the first seasons,(if he was, he wasn't prominent) is that the way muzzer remembers it too? (Can't always trust mom's memory banks....heh) And the guy in the sweater? while we watched him, mom always wondered if Mr Rogers had a valium pump or something..lol In the dictionary next to the word "mellow" is Mr Rogers picture. RIP Mr Rogers
Both the kids learned the alphbet and counting at an extremely early age thanks to the Sesame Street gang. Mom says the best educational TV ever.

Wow...we're gonna bring our books to Mumsie tonight before we go to bed...

Stan has a book on astrology, I have a book on poop, and Lacie prefers Edgar Allen Poe...she would. You should hear her read the "Bells"...it's terrierfying....she loves that word tintinabulation or somethin'....wonder if ya can scrabble that?

Um...have you seen the u tube version of the Count from Sesame Street counting...when they bleep out the word "count?" Look for it...if ya can't find it, we'll find the link. Mumsie was going to post it, but we're a family blog and all that. There's one with the count chattin' with Patrick Stewart that's pretty funny too....

Mumsie's havin' another hot flash and Lacie needs more ice for her lips...waaaaay too much kissin' for that girl last night...

Have ya heard how Miss Snickers is doing????

Love and pawslaps,

Scruffman

Speakin' of hot flashes, our work verification is "skinglo"...blogger is gettin' weirder and weirder

Gussie!

My girl was raised by the gang on Sesame Street too. They must have started that program about the time she started watching it.

She also realized that Morgan Freeman was a big part of her childhood education. He got his start on The Electric Company, the program my girl graduated to watching after Sesame Street. ("Listen tomorrow when Morgan says...")

Thanks for the blast from the past!

Goober love,
Stanley

Oh, I thought you meant Oprah. I didn't think that looked like her.

Happy Birthday Sesame Street!! My mom wishes she had you when she was growing up. All she had to watch was the Mickey Mouse Club.
